Los Jardines - Week 2

February 8, 2016

Dear family and friends,
It has come to my attention that the Panthers have suffered a tragic loss. I would like to apologize for the damage that I have caused as a result of my #PantherPride
In Mormoni 8:36 we read "And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride". Unfortunatly this week I was not one of the few who did not "lift themselves up in the pride"....  And just like the Nephites and the lamanites, in The Book of Mormon, when they got pridefull they always fell hard. So sorry for that.

Jk That wasnt my fault, the Panthers just need to #KeepPounding. Next year.
But seriously, dont be prideful. Thats when bad things happen...

This week was great, also it felt like forever! But a good forever :)
We contacted two girls this week and set up an appointment to visit them the next day. So we passed by for their house saturday and we knocked on the door and they let us in and there was a whole family inside waiting! Honestly at first I was a little nervous cause it was us (two gringas) and a whole family of 6 latinos. But then I remembered my power scripture (Just a little verse that helps me when im feeling nervous, worried, stressed, stuff like that) "Mirad hacia mi en todo pensamiento; no dudéis, no temais." ("Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.") D&C 6:36..... then I knew that everything would all be ok cause we were there on teh Lords errand. So we taught them el Libro de Mormon and it was beautiful. Seriously this family is so special. They understood everything that we said and things that they felt. En serio, amo esta familia. There are jsut so many little miracles that we see everyday, and they were definately one of them.

Haha also this week we were walking in the street with a memeber and some guy started yelling "Elders, Elders!" So we went over there and corrected him and started talking to him. He let us into his house and we taught him a lesson and then when we finished he jumped up and started rummaging through all his pants looking for a little piece of paper with a question that he has del Libro de Mormon, So he found it and asked us it CHina was the chosen land of God and told us that it says that in "our bible". Then we explained that it doesnt say that in there and so then he asked us "Well what does Eter 1:26 say?" So we opened it up and he wanted us to explain it to him. it says "Het era hijo de Com" (It was just the geneology of Eter...) and so we explained to him that they were just the family of Eter, but he said "But whaat does that mean..." and on his little paper it said "Com" so then he pointed at his papaer and said "Look it says right here "com"" Uhhh huuuu.... So than I asked him why it said Com... and he said "I dont know....." Hahah yeah nosotras tampoco! I think he wanted to argue with us but he forgot what he wanted to argue about. He really is a great person, he just confused himself a bit.

Also there is this dog that lives over by our house. Hes our good friend, and he always likes to walk with us. So sunday we got up and we were on our way to church and he got up and started walking with us. We got to church adn went in the capilla AND HE FOLLOWED US! Into the capilla! There was a ward having their sacrament meeting in the capillia and then a dog walked right in! Thank heavens it didnt go in the room, just right ourside the door. So we left to have it follow us out- and it did. But then we came back in and if just followed us back in! Three times! And by this point there were a bunch of poeple from the sacrament meeting watching us! Que vergüenza! Eventually someone helped us escape our puppy friend. He distracted the dog and we snuck in the capilla without him seeing us!

Yeah so this week was great! Lots of work and lots of miracles!
Love yall so much!
The church is true, the book is blue and Moroni's on the ball!

With love from Lima

1. Superbowl sunday- we visited a family and they were all geared up for the game! Really they knew nothing about it, but I dont believe in coincidences.
2. Also sunday we had lunch with a member who had a giant panther. Coincidence? I think not!...... this may have been when I was being a bit pridefull...
